Power Electronics Lead Engineer | Cork | Hybrid | Permanent

Our client, a global leader in precision power conversion, is looking for a Lead Engineer to drive a multidisciplinary team developing next-generation medical power and energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
• Drive power electronics design from concept and prototype through to production.
• Provide technical direction on power conversion topologies, control strategies and system integration.
• Diagnose design, reliability and test yield issues and lead corrective actions.
• Ensure designs meet medical safety and regulatory standards.
• Work closely with quality, manufacturing, procurement and programme teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years in hands-on electronics design and development, ideally in medical or high-reliability systems.
• Proven track record of taking power electronics prototypes and products to market.
• Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies, high-frequency switching and control systems.
• Experience leading, coaching and mentoring engineers.

Nice to Have

• Master’s or PhD in Power Electronics or a related field.
• Experience with high-voltage or energy-based medical devices.
• Patents, publications or other evidence of IP creation.
